Three US-based healthcare organizations have implemented electronic health record (EHR) solutions to improve their clinical and financial outcomes while delivering whole-patient care. LCH Health and Community Services has introduced Athenahealth’s cloud-based athenaOne, the Centre for Neuro Skills has rolled out MEDITECH Expanse EHR, and Litchfield Hills Orthopedic Associates has adopted eClinicalWorks’ cloud-based solution for clinics and ambulatory surgery centers. The EHR solutions will offer integrated systems, simplifying reporting, billing, and scheduling, providing a better patient experience, improving clinical outcomes, and offering improved access to crucial health data for healthcare providers.
LCH Health and Community Services, a federally qualified health center in Pennsylvania, has embarked on an electronic health records (EHR) implementation through vendor AthenaHealth. The organization offers a wide range of community-focused primary care, dental, pediatric, women’s health, and behavioral health services at three locations in southern Chester County, Pennsylvania. LCH Health and Community Services opted for a cloud-based solution with AthenaHealth to provide better clinical and financial outcomes while providing whole-patient care to the community. AthenaOne, a service provided by AthenaHealth, enables patients to conveniently access care and improves their levels of satisfaction through the use of patient engagement tools, outreach services, and an integrated telehealth solution.
Additionally, the EHR solution offers advanced patient registration capabilities, enabling the capture of crucial Uniform Data System (UDS) data and other custom data to help meet state, local, and federal requirements. The EHR solution also features a dental module specifically designed for federally qualified health centers, which combines the system’s clinical capabilities with added dental functionality.
BRAIN INJURY REHABILITATION TARGETS PATIENT RECORD GAPS WITH MEDITECH EHR IMPLEMENTATION
The Center for Neuro Skills (CNS), which provides intensive rehabilitation and medical programs for individuals recovering from various types of brain injuries, has announced its MEDITECH Expanse EHR rollout. CNS has seven locations in California and Texas. With the implementation of the Expanse EHR, CNS aims to provide patients with a single EHR that connects patient records across all care teams and facilities. With Expanse, CNS patients can access their EHR data in one location. The EHR also includes a patient portal, which allows patients to view their health information, sign consent forms, fill out pre-appointment questionnaires, and update insurance details, addresses, phone numbers, and medications.
Moreover, the EHR is designed to aid clinical and therapeutic decision-making by providing a more thorough view of a patient’s health history, irrespective of the time or location of care. The cloud-based system allows CNS clinical and maintenance teams to access patient records, submit orders, and document care using mobile devices at any time. Additionally, the EHR solution will display real-time information for each member of a patient’s care team, tailored to their specific workflows, ensuring extensive security and compliance.
SPECIALTY CARE PRACTICE REVEALS TRANSITION TO ECLINICALWORKS EHR
Litchfield Hills Orthopedic Associates has announced the implementation of a cloud-based EHR solution from eClinicalWorks for clinics and ambulatory surgery centers. Litchfield Hills Orthopedic Associates has two offices and one surgery center in Torrington, Connecticut, and specializes in diagnosing and treating the spine, neck, neurosurgery, orthopedic trauma, and joint replacement. The practice also provides surgical outpatient services and physical therapy.
By implementing the eClinicalWorks solution, Litchfield Hills Orthopedic Associates will benefit from an integrated system that simplifies accurate and timely patient reporting, billing, and scheduling while reducing the complexity of interfaces between different systems that can sometimes lead to reporting inaccuracies. According to Jennifer Tobon, Director of Administration at Litchfield Hills Orthopedic Associates, after using multiple systems for tasks like patient documentation, scheduling, and billing, the practice recognized the need for one integrated, flexible system. They saw how eClinicalWorks provided a one-stop solution for clinics and ASCs to accelerate their day-to-day operations with features like pre-op, intra-op, and post-op documentation, inventory management tracking, and access to patient history information.
