
Ohio Health Information Partnership (OHIP) has expanded its collaboration with Health Catalyst to improve interoperability and data usability within CliniSync, a nonprofit health information exchange (HIE). OHIP has chosen Health Catalyst’s KPI Ninja platform for this purpose. The partnership aims to enhance integration within workflows and provide actionable information to meet stakeholder needs. By utilizing the interoperability platform, CliniSync intends to improve stability and data usability for healthcare professionals across Ohio, ultimately supporting better care coordination and population health outcomes.
Ohio’s Health Information Partnership (OHIP) has announced an expanded collaboration with Health Catalyst, a health IT vendor, to enhance interoperability and data usability within CliniSync, a nonprofit health information exchange (HIE) operated by OHIP. OHIP has selected the KPI Ninja interoperability platform from Health Catalyst to achieve these goals.
The CEO of OHIP, Dan Paoletti, expressed optimism about the partnership, stating that it would enable CliniSync to expand its capabilities and meet stakeholders’ integration needs, ultimately providing more actionable information within the workflow. Paoletti emphasized that this effort would support Ohio in developing data-driven strategies for better care coordination and meeting population health requirements.
By implementing the KPI Ninja interoperability platform, CliniSync aims to improve stability and enhance data usability for its users across Ohio. Dan Burton, the CEO of Health Catalyst, expressed excitement about the expanded partnership and the opportunity to equip Ohio’s physicians, hospitals, and healthcare professionals with the necessary information to deliver high-quality patient care and achieve improved health outcomes.
CliniSync had previously announced a collaboration with The Health Collaborative (THC), another Ohio-based HIE, to establish a statewide HIE. As part of this strategic alliance, THC will continue to access HIE data and provide community health insights. By the end of 2023, the HIE plans to transition its customers to CliniSync.
Amy Andres, the board chairwoman of CliniSync, highlighted the importance of HIEs adapting to the evolving landscape of national interoperability. She emphasized that having a single information exchange serving the entire state would not only facilitate broad access to clinical data securely and efficiently but also support innovative models aimed at improving health outcomes for all Ohioans.
