
Civitas Networks for Health, a non-profit focused on healthcare interoperability, has added 11 new organizations to its membership. Comprised of HIEs, technology partners, and RHICs, Civitas promotes collaboration and cross-sector approaches to improve health outcomes in North America. The organization, formed in 2021, continues to expand its diverse membership, including APCDs, HDUs, HIEs, QIOs, RHICs, and strategic partners. Lisa Bari, Civitas CEO, expressed gratitude for the new additions and looks forward to their participation in the upcoming annual conference.
Civitas Networks for Health, a non-profit organization dedicated to advancing healthcare interoperability, has welcomed 11 new organizations to its membership during the first half of 2023. The organization’s diverse membership comprises health information exchanges (HIEs), strategic technology partners, and regional healthcare improvement collaboratives (RHICs).
Civitas aims to promote interoperability by facilitating extensive collaboration among its member organizations. Through the utilization of health information exchange (HIE), health data, and multi-stakeholder, cross-sector approaches, Civitas endeavors to enhance health outcomes throughout North America.

Civitas was established in 2021 as a result of the merger between two national membership organizations, namely the Strategic Health Information Exchange Collaborative and the Network for Regional Healthcare Improvement.
The organization continues to diversify its membership by including all-payer claims databases (APCDs), health data utilities (HDUs), HIEs, quality improvement organizations (QIOs), RHICs, as well as strategic business and technology partners.
In a recent press release, Lisa Bari, the CEO of Civitas, emphasized the significance of the work undertaken by Civitas members in connecting health data to tangible outcomes, particularly in the wake of the pandemic. Bari expressed gratitude for the new members, acknowledging their valuable contributions to the Civitas network. She eagerly anticipates their participation in the upcoming annual conference scheduled for August.
